Ascott Thonglor Bangkok is a 41-story serviced apartment located on Sukhumvit Road. In designing the building, careful consideration was given to the surroundings and to architectural quality. The result is a slender, high-rise building which fits perfectly on the narrow site and optimizes land use. Divided into two masses of differing heights, the building adds character to the Bangkok skyline.
This shifted mass form also creates more corner units, offering views on two sides. Residential floors are designed to provide spacious interiors and accentuate the vertical lines on the façade through the objective placement of the walls and balconies. The design highlights continuous vertical lines from the ground level to the building’s pinnacle created through the use of various materials such as precast concrete wall panels and glazing. Vertically patterned aluminum cladding on the building crown creates an overall crisp form.
Shared apartment amenities for residents include a lounge,
swimming pool, bar, kids’ club and a gym. The partly overhanging sundeck and
pool area faces west to receive the afternoon sun. Conference rooms are
conveniently located on the 11th and 12th floor, above the carpark, for ease of access. Service areas,
the mechanical & electrical room, as well as the back of house unit, are
located on the ground floor and basement level for convenient access and
maintenance.
