In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Vajiravudh College, the restoration of several historic buildings was undertaken, including the construction of a new assembly hall, which His Majesty King Rama IX graciously bestowed the name Navamabhumindra Building.

In keeping with the classic architecture of the campus, the new 3-storey assembly hall was built in a traditional Thai architectural style. The multifunction hall facilitates students’ daily prayer sessions, and foldable room partitions provide spaces to suit other academic activities.

The main auditorium was acoustically designed to support concerts and other audio-visual performances, and removable seating at certain sections of the hall provide a venue for other functions.

Large windows along the length of the building allow for natural ventilation, eliminating the need for air conditioning, making it energy efficient for daily use.

Traditional craftsmen were sought out to fabricate the various Thai architectural elements, showcasing intricacy and attention to detail. The design and craftsmanship of the assembly hall is a fitting testament to the values upheld by the college and its alumni.
