THE ATHENEE RESIDENCE

The Athenee Residence, located in the heart of Bangkok on Wireless Road, was established in the late 1990s, and has grown continuously to serve the needs of both local and international business.

Three components make up the development: a 38-storey office tower with three floors of retail, meeting rooms, and an 800-square-metre grand ballroom; a 41-storey condominium with 219 residential units including seven penthouses; and the existing Athenee Plaza hotel.

Promoting green urban space was a central ambition of the design. A verdant central courtyard links all three buildings to the recreation area on the seventh floor of the residential tower, while an open garden wraps around the entire complex.

Inspired by the language of Art Deco architecture, the residential tower's design is carefully integrated with the lines of the existing hotel. Its signature swooping roofline draws from the hand gesture of classical Thai dance, an image that evokes a sense of protection for residents, while its gentle curve offers a soft and graceful counterpoint to the tower's bold vertical lines.
